20-year-old Emma Raducanu recently withdrew her name from the Madrid Open following one of the most controversial press conferences in tennis history. Based on the limited number of words she used to express herself during the interview, it was pretty clear that Raducanu was reeling from the effects of her niggling wrist injury.
However, Raducanu has finally undergone wrist surgery, but unfortunately, she will have to sit out this year’s French Open and Wimbledon. The No. 1 British women’s tennis player released an official statement on Instagram that revealed her situation.
