The PGA Tour Champions announced the Galleri Classic last year, and the tournament is currently taking place for the first time ever. A win on Sunday will crown Langer with the most wins on the PGA Tour Champions, outshining Hale Irwin’s 45 wins. The field in California will also be headlined by Miguel Angel Jimenez, Steve Stricker, and many more. The purse for the Galleri Classic is set at $2.2 million with the winner bagging home the standard 15 percent of the total purse, which will amount to $330,000.
It is the sixth event of the season, with the winner also enjoying points for the PGA Tour Champions finale – Charles Schwab Classic. Nonetheless, the players won’t earn any OWGR points since the Senior Tour does not offer ranking points in its tournaments. Regardless, the winner of the ongoing event will enjoy a six-figure cheque, along with the other top-5 finishers. With no cut-line policy, how much will all 78 players earn?
