The 2023 NBA playoffs roll on Monday night with some higher-seeded teams trying to even their series on the road. The Lakers host the second-seeded Grizzlies in Game 4, and LeBron James and L.A. have the chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over Ja Morant and Memphis. The Grizzlies will have Dillon Brooks in Game 4 as the NBA opted not to suspended Brooks after he was ejected for hitting James in the groin in Game 3. Monday night also features the Heat hosting the Bucks. Miami leads the series 2-1 and Giannis Antetokounmpo has missed the last two games with a back injury. His status remains unclear for Game 4.
The Knicks, Warriors, Celtics and Timberwolves were all winners on Sunday. New York and Boston took 3-1 series leads with their wins over the Cavs and Hawks, respectively, while Minnesota was able to avoid a sweep against the Nuggets. Warriors-Kings, meanwhile, has been the most electric first-round series so far, and Sunday’s thriller was no exception. The defending champs held on for a one-point win to even the series at 2-2.
The 76ers are the only team to have punched their ticket to the second round so far. Philly completed a sweep of the Nets on Saturday without Joel Embiid and await the Celtics-Hawks winner in Round 2.
