The charm that the shortstop Derek Jeter had was not limited to the baseball world. It spread over to the NBA as well. When Derek was going to wear the Pinstripes for the last time in 2014, NBA legend and four times World Series champion LeBron James came forward with a tribute to the shortstop as he went on to play the last season of his career.

With the boon of playing baseball the way he did, Jeter earned many titles during his 20-year career. The biggest one to this day is still becoming the Hall of Famer, but once, Jeter also became the country’s favorite male athlete.

He got the honor in the year 2011, and NBA legend LeBron James was also in the top 10 of that list. By occupying the top spot, he had dethroned the late Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant, and Golf legend Tiger Woods. As Jeter readied himself to play his last season, King James congratulated the shortstop for all his achievements. In his tribute, he also wished for him to go and get another World Series Ring, but unfortunately, that couldn’t happen.

Aside from wanting Jeter to get another trophy, he called him the “GREAT.” He saluted the Captain for the wonderful career he had and to have an even better final year in the Pinstripes.

Fans did not react happily to King James’ tribute to Jeter
Fans were cruel, and they did not decide to hide their true feelings at all.
But there were others who did like what James did and appreciated him for that as well.
