Are we even surprised anymore? If you had to build the perfect basketball player in a lab, most people would choose LeBron James as their specimen. It was only last year that he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the league’s leading scorer. And earlier this year, he became the sole member of the 40,000-point club. Continuing with his habit of shattering records, LBJ added another one to his name tonight as he overtook Kareem yet again.
Early in tonight’s encounter against the Kings, LeBron became the league’s minutes leader with a whopping 57,447 minutes played. Sure enough, the record was previously held by The Captain, who finished his career with 57,446 minutes on the hardwood.
