Distinguished names such as driver Brad Keselowski, spotter Brett Griffin, and crew chief Rodney Childers were a few of the people who took to social media after the outage. While Keselowski thanked his generator manufacturer for saving the day, Childers complained about the frigid temperatures and how it would create a problem. Meanwhile, Griffin asked his power grid, “Maybe you saw this coming and shoulda warmed us or this was just decided this morning at 7 am?“

According to a CBS News report, the snowstorm left several people across the country stranded at the airport. Several fights were canceled and those that were running saw major delays. The high influx of passengers was due to Christmas being right around the corner.
Meanwhile, the city of Buffalo, which took the brunt of the storm, saw several of its residents leave their homes and scavange for any form of heat source. Emergency services also came to a halt, since the accumulation of snow was rendering them useless. More snowfall was reported to fall overnight, with some places reporting as much as 6ft of snow.
