Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world and Andy Murray is one of its greatest champions. Although Murray’s career has been plagued by poor luck and injuries, he is still widely considered a tennis great. Furthermore, Murray has made a comeback in the last couple of years and has shown that he still has some fight left.
The 3-time Grand Slam Champion is currently playing at the Australian Open and has largely surpassed expectations with his play. One point that Murray won even caught the attention of an MLB star.

Andy Murray recently beat Thanasi Kokkinakis to advance to the third round at the Australian Open. The match was a close one and had fans at the edge of their seats, with Murray coming out the victor in 5 sets. But one rally in particular stunned fans all over the world and got the attention of Fernando Tatis Jr. SportsCenter shared the video of the rally on Instagram and Tatis Jr. liked it.

While captioning, the Sportscenter said, “ANDY MURRAY, WOW!!! 👏”. This was an understatement, as Murray ran up and down the court, refusing to concede the point. He eventually won the rally, leaving his opponent frustrated and Fernando Tatis Jr. in awe.

Tatis Jr. is currently serving an 80-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. He tested positive for Clostebol, a performance-enhancing substance, last year. Following this, fans mocked Tatis Jr. at any chance they got, even mocking him on his birthday. But luckily, the San Diego Padres star will be back soon.

During the 2022 regular season and postseason, Tatis Jr. missed 60 games. This means that he will miss 20 games in 2023. This means that the Padres will have him for most of the season. Furthermore, the team even has a tentative return date in mind. According to mlb.com, “Tatis would be eligible to return on April 20 at the start of a four-game series in Arizona”.

But that date can change if games get postponed for unseen circumstances or factors such as rain. It will still be good to see him back and playing the game again.
