Kahne’s first race win came at the Richmond Raceway in 2005, driving for Evernham Motorsports in the #9 car. From a championship perspective, he never quite won, but the closest he ever came was a 4th place finish during the 2012 season. At the time, he was racing for Hendrick Motorsports in the #5 car. What made this even more incredible was the fact that it was his first season with the organization.
