The Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman enjoyed a great deal of success in his 14-year-long NBA career. However, his journey to five NBA championships was not an easy one. Rodman was quite disturbed since childhood due to his family situations and often found himself alone. The moments of despair forced Rodman to often endup doing things without thinking about the consequences.

One such instance was during The Worm’s last season with the Chicago Bulls. Rodman ended up doing something violent, which resulted in a 11-game suspension. Former President Bill Clinton came out in support of Rodman publically after the fiasco.

Rodman kicked a cameraman in frustration
Dennis Rodman often found himself in the midst of controversies in his basketball career. He picked fights with players, referees, and fans due to his hot-headed nature. Rodman has also been arrested a number of times, and making a public spectacle was never a big deal for him.

However, things began to escalate when Rodman kicked a cameraman named Eugene Amos in the groin during the 1997-1998 season. Rodman’s actions earned him a $25,000 fine and a 11-game suspension. Eventually, Rodman had to leave the Bulls after the season.
Bill Clinton publically supported Dennis Rodman

Bill Clinton took notice of the incident and came in support of Dennis Rodman publicly. Clinton stated that he was a big Dennis Rodman fan and felt the NBA star was an extraordinary athlete and very interesting. However, the former US president reckoned that Rodman’s destructive nature was a bad thing. Clinton added, “I’m sure in his heart of hearts, he regrets doing that.”
Dennis Rodman’s career went downhill after the incident, as he received a lot of backlash from the public. The seven-time rebounding champ managed to play just two more seasons in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1999 and with the Dallas Mavericks in 2000. Rodman dropped out of the NBA and started to play in minor leagues, before giving up basketball in 2006.

Dennis Rodman continues to be a fan favorite and his achievements in the NBA cannot be denied. Despite being a troubled kid, Rodman managed to shut it all out during the game and focused on destroying his opposition every time he entered the court.
