Over the years, fans have ended up believing rumors or speculations that have been far from the truth. A recent tweet related to Martina Navratilova has invoked a similar reaction from the tennis community.
Navratilova is one of the greats of the WTA. She has put on amazing performances in her prime. Tied with Chris Evert for 18 singles Grand Slam titles, her record for overall Grand Slam stands at 59, including doubles and mixed doubles. However, even after these accomplishments, the Czech-American legend is not immune to wild accusations on the internet.

Fans of tennis, like any sport, throw wild accusation here or there about players that are rivals of their favorite stars. A user recently tweeted about Navratilova getting the footage of her loss against Kathleen Horvath in the 1983 French Open destroyed. But they were able to find 18 minutes of the footage.
User @scoopmalinowski commented: “There are suspicions/whispers that Martina Navratilova had the tv broadcast film/video of her shocking upset loss to Kathy Horvath at 1983 Roland Garros destroyed. But I was able to find 18 min of the match last week.“

Navratilova replied to the wild accusations with equal rigor. She claimed that the comment was baseless and thanked the user for the entertainment. “Total bulls**t. But you go ahead and keep spreading rumors, I am used to it. This one takes the cake though… thanks for the entertainment…” she replied to the tweet.

Martina’s reassuring message to a fan
Navratilova is very active on Twitter. Given her recent interaction, people might think that she only goes on the platform to argue. However, the 59-time Grand Slam champion once replied to a fan to relinquish their worries.
Navratilova was recently diagnosed with throat and breast cancer and is undergoing treatment for both. One fan showed their concern in a Twitter thread of Navratilova saying she might have to quarantine herself if she tests positive for covid-19. The follower asked Navratilova if she was okay, and the former number one replied with, “Hanging in there, thanks 🙂“.
