Alexander Volkanovski “Surprised and Disappointed” After Islam Makhachev Disrespects His “Culture”

Alexander Volkanovski will be up against Islam Makhachev at UFC 284. Fans around the world are excited about the fight. The event will have the #1 pound-for-pound fighter against the lightweight champion. The blockbuster match-up is scheduled for the 12th of February. Recently, Islam Makhachev and the other UFC guests were invited to a welcome ceremony. What surprised fans and experts was that the Russian didn’t turn up for the ceremony. Alexander Volkanovski didn’t like Makhachev‘s absence. Talking to ‘TheMacLife’ Volkanovski talked about respecting cultures.
As the UFC comes back to Australia, fans are excited to see the Australian Volk take on the Dagestani champion. While the fight is a big crowd-puller, ‘The Great’ will remain the fan favorite in his own country. It would be interesting to see how Alexander Volkanovski responds in the cage to Makhachev‘s ignorance.

Alexander Volkanovski reacts to Makhachev’s ignorance
Volkanovski was talking to the YouTube channel ‘TheMacLife’ when he was asked about what he felt about Makhachev not turning up for the ceremony. Volkanovski was asked, “We had the welcome to country ceremony. It was a bit weird that Islam didn’t go you know there’s a ceremony to welcome you to the country, and you decided to skip it I’m curious if you felt there was a little bit of disrespect there if what did you think of that.”

Responding to the question Volkanovski said, “Hey don’t know the full story you know but I’m trying to I’ll try and be I guess I’m trying to be nice about it but for me, you know I respect uh the culture here I respect the culture all around the world.”

Further speaking on the same subject, ‘The Great’ added, “you know what I mean. Like you know, if I know I would turn up to anything like that, you know, I mean I just to show some respect again. I don’t know the full story, but it was a pretty surprised and disappointed internal.”
