UFC champion Islam Makhachev left the RAC Arena with the UFC gold wrapped around his waist after his fight against Alexander Volkanovski. After the outcry over the judges’ decision put a dent in the Dagestani fighter’s celebrations, the allegations of UFC star Dan Hooker sparked another controversy. Thus snatching the positive limelight from the Russian fighter. Notably, the accusations of ‘The Hangman’ started a heated debate and engulfed the whole MMA community.
As expected, the indictments further prompted some scathing responses from the lightweight champion’s camp. Despite this back-and-forth blame-defend game, the question of the authenticity of these accusations looms larger. Similarly, the UFC veteran Chael Sonnen expressed his doubt on the same as he sided with the 31-year-old.
Chael Sonnen’s firm belief in Islam Makhachev
In the latest segment of Beyond The Fight, the submission grappler opined about the recent chain of events. Asking the critical question, he put, “Where did they do it?”

Following this, he sought which arm of the former combat champion got the shot. Pointing out the intricacies, the former ESPN analyst said, “Islam was on television the next day. It was called the fight. And we could stop any one of those spills and we could zoom in. And he’s either got to see mark there or doesn’t. Real straightforward.”
Significantly, the 45-year-old theorized that going to a hospital was not viable in the case of possessing an IV. Further, he speculated bringing someone to the room who could have a Twitter handle was equally precarious.
Sonnen questions whether it’s worth it to the champion
The MMA fighter-turned-analyst put forth that the lightweight kingpin would be conscious he was in violation. Therefore, he asserted, “But if he’s going to be [twisted] in this case, he knows that he’s in violation. It’s worth it to him. Whatever he needs, it’s worth it to him.”

In addition, the Oregon-born dismissed the murmur of a nurse walking into a room of Dagestani fighters and helping the American Kickboxing Academy representative cheat in a main event in the biggest fight in the history of Perth.
Therefore, he declared, “It’s a lot to believe. It’s a lot to accept. I feel very confident in telling you. Said nurse is never going to come out.”
Lastly, he suggested that whoever gave the speculative information to Hooker was a ‘nut rider’ and sought gains from him.
