Buffed Up Conor McGregor Hits Back at Dustin Poirier After Landing in the U.S.: “You Are in Trouble”

The UFC superstar, Conor McGregor, is arguably the most popular fighter of all time. However, since the last few years, the former two-divisional champion has been facing a tumultuous time in his fighting career. ‘The Notorious’ had a great time in his career from 2011 to 2016, when he achieved a 15-winning streak. However, soon after winning the double championship in the UFC, the Irishman somewhere lost the zest to give his best shot.
Things turned bitter for McGregor mainly at UFC 257 while fighting against Dustin Poirier for a rematch. The two used two different kinds of fighting styles; while McGregor went forth with a boxing style, Poirier heavily focused on leg kicks. This changed the entire fight in favor of ‘The Diamond’. Furthermore, after losing the fight, the Irishman was highly criticized by the media and fans.

Now, after more than two years after the fight, McGregor has once again proved that he has the perfect reply for all the haters and fellow fighters. He wanted to clarify that anyone who thinks he can be destroyed with leg kicks is totally wrong.

A video of McGregor‘s shadowboxing in front of a wall was uploaded to social media. The 34-year-old’s position is mainly aimed at defending leg kicks. So any opponent who tries to beat McGregor by throwing kicks will end up injuring themselves.
Based on this video, ‘The Notorious’ tweeted “Saw what you want novices. If that is what’s awaiting your low kick, you are in trouble.”
McGregor wanted to convey to all his future opponents that they would be in huge trouble if they were to destroy him using leg kicks. However, the Irish superstar deleted the tweet afterward. UFC 257 was a payback match for Poirier to compensate for his loss to the Irishman at UFC 178.

In UFC 257, Poirier was able to defeat the two-divisional champion in the second round itself. ‘The Diamond’ was successful in trapping McGregor in an immovable position, making it easier for him to win via a knockout. Additionally, the SBG Ireland product terribly failed to check the leg kicks from the star, which was least expected from the champ-champ.

At the moment, the UFC superstar is all set to make his return to the promotion. Nonetheless, McGregor won’t straight hit the octagon. Instead, he will coach against Michael Chandler at TUF 31, and then fight against ‘Iron’ at the end of the season. Recently McGregor in a conversation with MMA fighting warned his next opponent to get ready to lose in front of his high kicks.
