Despite his stroke of fortune after UFC 286, Colby Covington is not endearing himself to a lot of fans. The 35-year-old earned a title shot after weighing in as the backup for UFC 286. However, many fans felt that he was undeserving of the opportunity. Even the champion Leon Edwards openly came out and stated that he would not be fighting Covington next. In response, ‘Chaos’ had a piece of advice for ‘Rocky.’ However, Covington’s message backfired on him as fans dug up skeletons from his past to troll him with.
Covington fought Kamaru Usman twice for the title and came up short both times. His only win since then has been against Jorge Masvidal last year. Despite his inactivity and lack of higher-ranked wins, he has now earned a title shot. Many, including Leon Edwards, scrutinized Dana White after the announcement.
Nevertheless, both White and Covington are standing their ground. Furthermore, Covington is going full heel in his pursuit of a third title opportunity.

Colby Covington has one simple piece of advice for Leon Edwards
In an interview he gave to MMA Fighting, Colby Covington generously offered Leon Edwards the only advice he’s ever going to give him. He asked Edwards to shut his “fumbling mouth” and open his “frigging stupid ears.”
The former interim champion then said, “You don’t cross your boss.”
However, this advice coming from Covington was cannon fodder for fans. They took the opportunity to remind Covington of his own problems with White from years ago. To be precise, they were referring to the time when Covington encountered White while he was gambling in a casino.
Covington took an issue with the UFC making Tyron Woodley vs Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title and robbing him of a title shot.
Fans troll Covington for past Dana White encounter
Covington actually filmed himself walking up to Dana White. He also called White “Uncle Fester”, referring to the character from ‘Addams Family.’ Four years hence, Covington is advocating for not crossing his boss. This set off a section of fans who trolled Covington for switching up stances.
One fan retweeted the video with a quote that went, “This is the dude who filmed his boss at the casino with his side chick btw.”
Several others responded to the tweet with similar interesting comments and comparisons.
