In a sport usually dominated by oval tracks, the Cup Series does feature a few road courses in between. However, these are not in large supply as only around one in six races will be held at road courses this season. Every now and then when NASCAR heads down a road course, we are treated with a change of pace. Instead of continuously turning left, we do see drivers turning right as well.
If we were to choose the driver who has been the most successful road course racer, there are several options to choose from. From the likes of Jeff Gordon to Chase Elliott, Tony Stewart to Ricky Rudd, there can be many who could be rightfully considered the king of road courses.

Replying to NASCAR on NBC’s tweet, a Twitter user recently shared their list of top RC drivers in NASCAR history, while giving honorable mentions to five more. Interestingly, the user left out AJ Allmendinger’s name. Soon, former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr asked the question pertaining to AJ Allmendinger’s place on the list.
As per Seth Sharp’s tweet, he had initially mentioned, “Jeff, Kyle, Tony, and Chase have combined to win 28 of the 63 RC races since 1997. That is 44%.” He elaborated that from his list of top ten RC drivers, of these drivers had a combination of, “0 wins of the 92 RC races held before 1997.”
After Junior asked about AJ Allmendinger’s status on the list, the person responded, “I just based it off of Cup…but if we are talking Cup/Xfin/Truck combo he is T3 to me without question.“

Steve Letarte mentioned that Allmendinger had “a heck of a value.” He also emphasized how he should be getting more respect from the NASCAR community. Soon enough, Earnhardt Jr had also agreed with Letarte’s views by sharing the clip on Twitter and his Instagram Stories.
