NASCAR has always had its fair share of drama and controversies and this recent incident would arguably go down in the history books! Facing rampant criticism from the community following the suspension of Josh Williams, NASCAR is looking to settle things with this week’s races in COTA.
The last race in Atlanta saw a frustrated Williams marking a protest by parking his race car at the start/finish line and walking off in the middle of a race.

While most drivers have come up in favor of NASCAR suspending the driver, many are voicing their displeasure with the governing body as well. Recently in the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Brett Griffin, spotter for Kaulig Racing expressed his thoughts on the incident.

Kaulig Racing Spotter reveals his thoughts on NASCAR’s action
On the latest episode of the popular Dirty Mo Media production, Brett was in conversation with Josh Williams, TJ Majors, and Freddie Kraft.
There, he simply stated how Josh stood up for the “little guys” in the sport. While major players have the privilege to be on the best team with the right equipment, these “little guys” had to work their whole careers for it.
Brett expressed, “I personally do not think you deserve a suspension. I think you stood up for the little guy.”
Brett further emphasized his point, saying, “when you look at history and when you look at Kyle Busch and you look at Chase Elliott and you look at Harrison Burton, their kids and young guys that, that have made it big in the sport, but they never had to work.”
As a matter of fact, Brett mentions how contrasting the scenarios are. He added, “they’ve never been in a bad racecar not one time in their life.”
“But they had all the funding in the world, all the sponsors, all the people, crew chiefs, engineering, all the things, you do not and I think for you to be singled out in that scenario was complete bulls**t.”
Even while backing Josh and understanding his humble beginnings, Brett is quick to let him know his actions had faults as well. “I think what you did was also complete bullshit. But, but you got your point across.”

Before Brett had his opinions covered, the discussion had quite an interesting take when Freddie said, “Here’s where you messed up Josh, let me tell you if you would’ve said the car wouldn’t steer anymore, you could’ve got off like Kyle did for parking his car last year in Darlington.”
Adding a pinch of sarcasm, Freddie voiced his take on the NASCAR double standards, while Brett asked, “is that temper tantrum different than Josh’s temper tantrum?”
To which Freddie replied, “the only way it’s different is Kyle said the car wouldn’t steer.”
