The Minnesota Wild have re-signed forward Marcus Johansson to a two-year, $4 million contract, the team announced Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:
The Wild acquired Johansson at the 2023 trade deadline for a third-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
The 32-year-old Johansson had 46 points in 80 games last season between the Wild and Washington Capitals. He had 18 points in 20 games with Minnesota.
Johansson was one of several pending larger-named unrestricted free agents on the Wild’s roster. Others are forwards Oskar Sundqvist, Gustav Nyquist and Ryan Reaves, plus defensemen Matt Dumba and John Klingberg.
Minnesota went 46-25-11 last season, but was ousted in the first round of the playoffs by the Dallas Stars in six games.
