The entire tennis community has been sorely missing the British tennis player, Emma Raducanu‘s stellar performances on the court. Due to her injury woes, the former US Open champion has already missed out on a number of tournaments including the ongoing Madrid Open.
Now, it looks like the fans will have to wait a bit more as the 20-year-old player has recently undergone wrist surgery, which will keep her out of forthcoming Grand Slam events. Many prominent figures around the globe have reacted to Raducanu’s surgery news. Even the Hollywood star, Gemma Chan didn’t hold herself back to send a heartfelt message to the WTA player during the adverse phase.

The 20-year-old player recently shared an emotional message on her Instagram after undergoing her wrist surgery. In that statement, Emma Raducanu acknowledged that she has been struggling with recurring injuries which she picked up in the past few months. Despite those setbacks, the British tennis star has tried to be tenacious and resilient on the court.
Raducanu also revealed that she was forced to miss a considerable period of her training sessions in the process of her recovery. However, it wasn’t enough as she had to undergo a minor surgical procedure on both her hands in order to overcome those recurring injury woes. After successfully undergoing the procedure, the former US Open champion announced that she will be out from the upcoming tournament including the French Open and Wimbledon Championships.

Later, the world No. 10 player also stated that she will have to undergo another minor surgery on her ankle while she is away from competitive tennis. Taking note of her heartfelt message, a number of notable figures including Gemma Chan flocked to the comments section to drop their reactions. The British actress commented with a ‘heart’ emoji on her Raducanu’s emotional social media post.
Other prominent names from the tennis community, including Holger Rune and Coco Gauff, also reacted in the comments section. The Danish tennis player said, ‘Get Well’ while the American tennis prodigy also commented, “get well soon emma!”
