“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kim Zolciak-Biermann is reportedly facing a harsh reality: She’s divorcing Kroy Biermann, and she and the former NFL star reportedly owe the IRS more than $1 million.
On Monday, TMZ reported that Zolciak-Biermann filed for divorce from Biermann, her husband of 11 years, citing an “irretrievably broken” marriage with “no hope of reconciliation.” She wants primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their kids, spousal support, and a legal restoration of her maiden name, TMZ adds.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2011, welcomed four children together, and Biermann also adopted Zolciak-Biermann’s daughters from a prior relationship, Brielle and Ariana Biermann.

Citing legal documents, TMZ reported earlier on Monday that the Biermanns owe the Internal Revenue Service $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties for the years of 2013, 2017, and 2018.

The couple also owes $15k in unpaid taxes to the state of Georgia for 2018, the site added.
The news comes nearly three months after a Fulton County notice announced that the Biermanns’ mansion in Alpharetta, Ga., was in foreclosure.
That February 15 announcement noted that Truist Bank would auction off the property on March 7 after Zolciak-Biermann and her husband defaulted on a $1.65 million loan from 2012, as People reported.
Brielle and Ariana told TMZ at the time that the foreclosure announcement was a misunderstanding, and the law office of Brock & Scott, PLLC, later announced the auction had been canceled on February 22, per Entertainment Tonight. The law office didn’t say why the auction was called off but said a new date for the sale hadn’t been scheduled.
Zolciak-Biermann was an inaugural member of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” starring in the first five seasons before exiting the series in 2012. She then made sporadic appearances on the show until 2018, and a trailer for the current 15th season of “RHOA” shows she’ll pop up in future episodes.
In another entry in her reality TV career, Zolciak-Biermann competed in the 21st season of “Dancing With the Stars” in 2015 but withdrew from the competition after suffering a transient ischemic attack.
The 44-year-old and her family also starred in the Bravo reality show “Don’t Be Tardy” — named after Zolciak-Biermann’s 2009 dance-pop track “Tardy for the Party” — for its eight-season run between 2012 and 2020.
