As Amanda Nunes vs. Irene Aldana comes closer, fans are looking at it as a clash that promises fireworks in the octagon. UFC’s only current double champion Amanda Nunes is ready to defend her recently reclaimed bantamweight title against the underdog Irene Aldana. At the UFC Vegas 74 press conference, UFC boss Dana White also expressed his enthusiasm for the fight. White acknowledged the savage nature of both Nunes and Aldana.
Interestingly, he emphasized Aldana’s hunger for victory, which according to White, may or may not be left in Nunes. Recently, UFC veteran Chael Sonnen delved further into White’s remarks and drew some interesting conclusions in his YouTube video.

Firstly, Sonnen pointed out that Nunes has faced a few legitimate challenges throughout her career. According to the former UFC fighter, most opponents adopted a cautious approach against Nunes, rarely pushing the champ to her limits. However, Aldana’s hunger could be a game-changer, bringing a refreshing dynamic to the octagon against Nunes, according to Sonnen.
“It was helpful to hear from Dana that Aldana is hungry. That’s a big deal guys. How many people have we seen fight Amanda Nunes? Not very many. Night after night after night, it has been ‘okay I gotta sign this, let me get in there, let me get out in one piece’. There are not ‘my skills versus your skills until one of us is left’. There’s not! It’s very interesting if Aldana isn’t scared.”
He termed Aldana’s hunger as a “big deal”, as it makes the UFC 289 much more exciting and thrilling to watch for the fans.

Further, ‘The American Gangster’ praised Aldana’s boxing skills, acknowledging her impressive technique. Moreover, he also highlighted an article that emphasized her reach, length, and grappling abilities. The former UFC title challenger acknowledged that Aldana’s boxing prowess could pose a significant threat to Nunes’ dominance.
“One thing that I’ve been impressed with Aldana is for her boxing. And there was an article and the author of the article made a big point about the reach the length and the grappling of Aldana. I don’t disagree. I’m more impressed with her boxing.”
