Few drivers in the world are as versatile as Kyle Larson. Apart from having competed in NASCAR’s three national series, the 32-year-old won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2015 and participated at the Indianapolis 500 earlier this year, where he finished 18th. Considered one of the most talented drivers of the generation, Larson is nothing short of a superhero to many motorsports fans around the world. However, just like Superman’s weakness was kryptonite, the Hendrick Motorsports driver also struggles with a certain type of driving.
Speaking to NASCAR insider Kenny Wallace, Katelyn, Kyle Larson’s wife has revealed her husband’s weakest form of driving in a candid interview, which could potentially be an embarrassing revelation for the 2021 Cup Series champion.
Kyle Larson is truly something else, isn’t he? The Hendrick Motorsports driver is currently ranked first in the driver standings, having secured four wins in the ongoing Cup Series campaign. Widely considered to be one of the greatest racers in modern history, the 32-year-old attempted the famous ‘double’ this season, competing at the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. While the weather played a spoilsport on that occasion, it did leave fans scratching their heads, questioning if there was anything Larson couldn’t do like a true champion.

And, as it turns out, there is!
Katelyn Larson revealed to Kenny Wallace that her husband struggles with a certain form of driving. Speaking on Episode 73 of Kenny Wallace Conversation, she said, “He’s one of the worst street drivers. So distracted, and he drives with two feet. I don’t know about you, but I switch over. But he drives with two feet and he always wants to hit his mark. So if there’s a red light in front of us, he drives to the line and then hits the brake. I’m like, my gosh, can you just ease off a little? But he’s always in race mode apparently.”
What’s your reaction? Can you believe Kyle Larson’s wife just called out his driving skills? React! Reactions
We all have our weaknesses, and for Kyle Larson, it’s driving a daily commute car. The 32-year-old is used to racing at over 200 mph in his No. 5 Chevy Camaro, so ordinary traffic feels like a drag. It’s no surprise he struggles to switch off from ‘race mode’ even on the street. Recently, Larson received a special Chevrolet Camaro from Hendrick Motorsports to mark the team’s 40th anniversary in NASCAR. Limited to just 40 cars worldwide, it’s bound to see plenty of street time just like its racetrack counterpart. Speaking of his NASCAR standing, despite losing the regular series championship by a single point to Tyler Reddick, Larson is looking ahead to the next 10 Cup Series races. With the Round of 16 playoffs starting at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Larson, fresh off a fourth-place finish at Darlington Raceway, is hoping to ride the momentum and make a strong playoff push.

Another hilarious story Katelyn Larson revealed about her husband
Who would have thought that Kyle Larson out of all people wouldn’t know how to change a tire? Given his vast experience as a racing driver, it would be natural to assume that the 2021 Cup Series winner will know how to deal with the basic adversities that come with owning a car, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Speaking to Kenny Wallace on his podcast, Katelyn Larson revealed a funny incident about the time when her husband hit the curb,
She said, “He [Kyle] drove a Chevy Tahoe. He hit a curb. He got a flat tire. I was outside in the garage changing it with his sister we had it jacked up it was those big rims though so I got the spare out. I said, ‘Oh you’re gonna have to call somebody.’ The spare does not fit, it’s not the same rim. Well then about two days later he just called Chevy and said you can come get the car.”

Additionally, Katelyn Larson herself has built quite a rapport with NASCAR fans, who look forward to seeing her chug a beer in Victory Lane every time her husband wins a race. The celebration has become iconic and was last seen at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when Kyle Larson won his fourth race of the season.
With playoffs on the horizon, fans of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports driver will hope that Katelyn gets plenty more opportunities to perform her beer celebration in the upcoming 10 races, with the hope that Kyle Larson secures the second Cup Series win of his career.
