Thanksgiving weekend calls for a Thanksgiving throwback. And here’s a conversation from last year that will make all NASCAR fans smile. Ahead of the holidays in 2021, NASCAR Cup Series drivers Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr, Chase Briscoe, and Joey Logano shared their off-season and Thanksgiving plans with their fans.

During the interview, Hendrick Motorsports driver and 2020 NASCAR Cup Series winner Chase Elliott made an honest-to-heart admission about his Thanksgiving plans. When asked about what he has in mind for the holiday, the racer simply said; “That’s my mom’s category of things. So, I’ll do whatever she says when it comes time.” Elliott, along with other NASCAR drivers also revealed their pick of the best and the worst Thanksgiving side. When asked about his favorite side, Elliott said, “Dressing. Definitely.”

Furthermore, when the Cup Series Champion was asked about his plans for preparing a Thanksgiving meal, Elliott immediately made it clear that he was not even going to try anything. He said; “I definitely don’t do any of the cooking. I try to be in charge of something you can go pick up like water or drinks from the store.”

Explaining how his mom understands the lack of his cooking skills, Elliott smiled and shared what he would be doing instead to make up for that. He said; “My mom does this like a little list. She assigns people what you’re supposed to bring. So, she knows my cooking is not good at all or really not even existent. So, yeah, I typically get assigned something that is you can go buy. Plastic water bottles.”

The time when Chase Elliott actually cooked
Even though Chase Elliott admitted that he was not good at cooking, it doesn’t mean that he never tried. In fact, the last time Elliott’s powers were tested, things turned out to be pretty good for the Hendrick Motorsports driver. According to a Facebook post shared by Elliott, he did use his ‘grill master skills’ for Thanksgiving in 2016.
