Alex Ovechkin, the captain of the Washington Capitals, scored his 403rd goal on the road, beating the previous record. Fans reacted enthusiastically to the victory as the NHL tweeted about this historic occasion.

Alex Ovechkin now holds 793 career strikes in total and 402 goals on the road. The NHL official page made a post on Twitter to celebrate the occasion. It posted, “lex Ovechkin’s (@ovi8) second of the game is his 403rd goal on the road — officially passing @WayneGretzky for first all time for most road goals!”.
