Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has had an eventful life both on the professional and personal level. He constantly achieved one milestone after another as a baseball player. Likewise, he has a long string of star-studded romantic flings in his private ventures. Some of those celebrity names were as big as world-renowned pop music megastar Madonna.

Rodriguez’s romantic linkup with Madonna came to the public forefront at a time when he was a married man. Back in 2002, Rodriguez got married to Cynthia Scurtis. They gave birth to a pair of daughters throughout their time together. However, following widespread rumors of Rodriguez’s affair with Madonna, Cynthia filed for divorce in 2008.

The Rodriguez-Madonna affair created a lot of buzz but also disappeared in a flash. Hence, the relationship didn’t reach any meaningful point. Also, no proper confirmation of an affair came from either party. But unfortunately, that still couldn’t help save Rodriguez’s marriage.
What sort of relationship did Alex Rodriguez and Madonna have?
Alex Rodriguez and Cynthia Scurtis met each other at a gym in the late 1990s. They dated for a few years until Rodriguez popped the question and then eventually married later. So Cynthia felt betrayed when the news of Rodriguez’s extra-marital affair with Madonna spread like wildfire. Therefore, when Cynthia felt the matter getting out of hand, she broke apart.
Cynthia’s Miami attorney, Earle Lilly, termed the Rodriguez-Madonna pairing as “an affair of the heart.” In further clarification, Earle added, “The correct analysis is a relationship. Some people categorize an affair as something as sexual infidelity. We’re not claiming that. It’s an affair of the heart.” Whereas Madonna denied the affair with Rodriguez by saying, “I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage.”

A document released by Cynthia’s Houston attorney, Maurice Kutner, stated, “This is an action for dissolution of marriage, which is being filed only after (Cynthia Rodriguez) has exhausted every effort to salvage the marriage of the parties. The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the husband’s extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct.”

Despite the divorce, Rodriguez and Cynthia have maintained contact over the years. They have even grown closer with the passing of time. Cynthia is now in a happy marriage with real estate advisor Angel Nicholas and the pair share a daughter. While Rodriguez is a single father to his daughters with Cynthia, and presently dating fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro.
