The Wells Fargo Championship is almost here, and several PGA Tour players are all set to tee it up at Quail Hollow Club tomorrow. One of these talented professionals is former European Tour star Collin Morikawa. The American golfer has won over tons of fans with his tournament performances. But when it comes to his golfing skills, there is something the player is still working on!
As per a recent update, Morikawa is now turning back the clock and switching back to his old form, looking to make a brand new comeback on the Tour this week!
Collin Morikawa brings back his old techniques ahead of the Wells Fargo Championship

LIV Golf came in like a massive flood and took away some of the most talented golfers from the PGA Tour. However, despite the huge transition, there were many who decided to stick with the former league. And one of these players was Collin Morikawa, who is currently preparing himself for his first round at Quail.
The golf star has been working day and night to improve his game in hopes of probably winning the title. However, besides everything else, Morikawa is mainly focused on his putting technique. As per his PGA Tour stats, the golfer currently stands at the 140th rank in SG: Putting, which is certainly something Morikawa is looking to improve.
Therefore, as per a recent tweet by the famous golf journalist Daniel Rapaport, the golf ace has switched back to his old “saw” grip while making a putt. Fans certainly remember how Morikawa’s saw putt made a huge difference to his professional life back in 2021, helping him even win his second major championship, the Open Championship, that year.

Morikawa was unstoppable on the green back then, and he’s now looking to replicate that. According to one of his old interviews, here’s what he had to say about his putting technique: “It just felt so different on how I was putting that I knew I was heading down the right path…Now I feel confident I can take the stroke out of play, and I can just really focus on speed.”
Who is Morikawa’s new putting coach?
Morikawa wishes to leave no stone unturned to grab a win at the Wells Fargo Championship. And to work on improving his putting abilities, the golfer is currently taking putting lessons from his instructor, Stephen Sweeney. And it looks like the two mutually agree that Morikawa going back to the “saw” grip will help him make some beautiful putts at the tournament!
