Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.
There have been plenty of big signings so far in free agency, but there are still some big names left on the market.
Some are younger guys who could have a significant impact for multiple years, while some are older veterans at premium positions who could have a significant impact in the short term.
Emphasizing both positional value and age, here are the top five remaining free agents on the market.
1. Aaron Rodgers – QB
Rodgers technically isn’t a free agent yet, but with the team signing Justin Fields and all reports indicating the two sides will mutually part ways, people are viewing Rodgers as a free agent.
The 41-year-old is top of this list exclusively because he is the top quarterback available on the market. A lot of teams are in need of a quarterback still, and with a weak draft class this year, teams are looking for veteran help at the position.
Rodgers is nowhere near elite anymore, but he has a solid baseline to help a team succeed. That makes a team with a contending-caliber roster in need of a QB interesting, such as the Minnesota Vikings or Pittsburgh Steelers.

2. Russell Wilson – QB
Speaking of the Pittsburgh Steelers, former Steeler Russell Wilson is in a similar boat as Rodgers as a veteran with past success looking for a new home.
The Steelers seem likely to move on from Wilson as of now, but could also bring him back if the QB market dries up.
Wilson had a solid season with the Steelers, helping them reach the playoffs, but the veteran has not been the same as the Super Bowl quarterback he was with the Seahawks for a long time.
The 36-year-old could also end up with a contending team, but some teams may be looking for a stopgap quarterback interested in Wilson, like the Titans for example.

3. Justin Reid
A 28-year-old safety, the former Chief and Texan is currently looking for a new home.
A solid safety, his free agent prospects should be boosted by the fact he is a two-time Super Bowl champ with the Chiefs. Any contending team looking for safety help would benefit from having Reid on the roster.
The strong safety is a hard-hitter who is versatile on the back end. He had the most passes defended since his rookie season last year and has stayed relatively healthy for most of his career.
His numbers don’t pop out, but he is one of the more valuable free agents remaining on the market.
4. Cam Robinson
Robinson isn’t an elite tackle, but given the lack of options at left tackle, a premium position in the NFL, Robinson becomes much more valuable of a free agent option among the remaining guys.
Robinson was the starting left tackle for the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars last year, starting all 17 games for the two teams.
At 29 years old, the left tackle seems to have a lot left in the tank and could serve as a significant upgrade for a team in desperate need of a left tackle. The New England Patriots stand out in that regard.

5. Teven Jenkins
Drafted as a tackle by the Chicago Bears, Jenkins played much better when moved to guard.
The 27-year-old seems to be looking for a new home though after the Bears traded for two guards and signed a new center. Unless Jenkins returns to tackle, he will not be a Chicago Bear next season most likely.
Being a young offensive lineman with high draft capital, Jenkins should have interesting value to teams looking for long-term interior linemen.
With the emphasis on the importance of protecting young quarterbacks nowadays, a team with a young quarterback would make a lot of sense for Jenkins, like the Minnesota Vikings who could be starting J.J. McCarthy next season.
