Alex Bregman seems to be settling in just fine with the Red Sox.
Boston’s top free-agent pickup was named American League Player of the Week by MLB on Monday. The 31-year-old third baseman slugged two homers and five doubles while driving in 10 runs over his last six games.
Bregman put together his best game as a Red Sox on Sunday night against the Cardinals, going 4-for-5 at the plate with a three-run homer, two doubles, and six RBI in Boston’s eventual 18-7 victory over St. Louis.
Bregman’s hefty stat line stands as the first time a Red Sox batter has recorded at least four hits and six RBI in a single game since Ceddanne Rafaela drove in seven runs against the Cubs on April 27.
Bregman has been as advertised when it comes to teeing off against pitching at Fenway Park. After Boston’s three-game sweep of the Cardinals, Bregman is now slashing .387/.496/.774 with 29 runs scored, 12 doubles, eight home runs, and 22 RBI across 24 total games at Fenway.

“I think today Raffy and Jarren [Duran] just made my job a lot easier,” Bregman said after Sunday’s blowout win, per MassLive’s Sean McAdam. “They were on base all day and being able to hit with guys in scoring position makes your job a lot simpler at the plate, just trying to grab a ball into the outfield. Top to bottom, I was really pleased with the at-bats.”
In 10 games so far with the Red Sox, Bregman is batting .341 with five doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI.
