The Boston Bruins traded forward Jack Studnicka to the Vancouver Canucks for goaltender Michael DiPietro and defenseman Jonathan Myrenberg.
Studnicka, 23, was the Bruins’ second-round draft pick in 2017. He’s played 38 games in his NHL career, recording one goal and six assists. In 41 games last season with Boston’s AHL-affiliate Providence Bruins, Studnicka tallied 10 goals and 25 assists.
Trade is lower case “w” win for the #Canucks value wise. Studnicka might be “just a guy” and has trended in that direction of late, but he’s got a very, very strong AHL scoring record at a young age. Worth a look at a cut rate price, which this very much was. — Thomas Drance (@ThomasDrance) October 28, 2022
DiPietro, 23, was the Canucks’ third-round draft pick in 2017. He played 34 games last season with the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL, where he was 15-14 with a 2.95 GAA and .901 SV%. Myrenberg is currently playing in Sweden for Mora IK, where he has one goal and two assists in nine games this season.
