Carlos Alcaraz has been quite vocal this season about the packed schedule in the tennis world. Just a month ago, during the ATP Finals, we saw him opening up about missing home when he was away for tournaments. Alcaraz revealed that he’s a person who always loves to spend time with his family. “It is not easy, at least for me, traveling a lot in this part of the year. I miss home. I want to spend time with my close people at home. I have to travel. I have to play more tournaments, more matches,” said the 21-year-old Spaniard. However, with the season coming to an end he got a chance to spend some time with his loved ones. How do these little breaks help him improve his game, though?
Just a few days ago, Alcaraz was spotted enjoying his vacation with his family in the Dominican Republic. He even posted a few pictures of his memorable trip on his social media accounts. In one of those pictures, he was seen having a fun time on a yacht while sailing on the Caribbean Sea. His parents, Carlos Alcaraz Gonzalez and Virginia Garfia Escandon, and brother Alvaro were also seen giving a few poses with the tennis star.
During a recent meeting with journalists in New York, Carlos Alcaraz revealed that he had not touched his racquet in the week and a half spent on vacation with his family and friends in both Spain and Punta Cana. He said this has indeed helped him to relax, have more energy when he returns, and “rest both mentally and physically.” What are his plans for December now? Well, according to the Spaniard, he now plans to spend most of his time training and practicing precision. He’ll now stay in Spain for some days and make himself fully “ready” for the 2025 AO. “For me, it is very important to complete the remaining (‘big’) ones,” said Alcaraz.

However, amid all these, he has also informed that he’d also be enjoying Christmas with his family. In July, during an interview, Carlos Alcaraz admitted that his favorite part of the post-tournament life is returning home and spending time with his loved ones. Speaking about his post-tournament routine he added, “Being at home, calm, with my people. Without doing much, because at home I enjoy not doing big things, but doing the simplest and most natural things. That’s what characterizes me and what I enjoy the most. That’s what I miss the most.”

This season has been quite an exceptional season for this Spaniard. He won four titles, and guess what? Two out of them were Grand Slam titles! What’s next in target for Carlitos, though?

Carlos Alcaraz has already set his eyes on the 2025 AO
As per several reports, Carlos Alcaraz may skip the warm-up events and could possibly start his season directly at the 2025 AO, just like what he did this year. He has had success in every Grand Slam tournament, apart from the Australian Open. His best record in this tournament has been reaching the QF at the 2024 AO. Can he win the title in 2025?
While speaking to the journalists in NY, Carlos Alcaraz said, “I’m sure I’ll be the Australian champion sooner or later. Let’s hope it happens this year.” He added that the most “challenging” part of competing in Australia is being at the same level as the rest of the players, as they are all prepared to “sell their cards on the table and show everything they have worked hard to achieve a good result.”

However, before this mega tournament, Carlos Alcaraz will take part in the two exhibitions which are scheduled to take place on December 4th and December 7th. The first one will be at Madison Square Garden against Ben Shelton and the next one will be against Frances Tiafoe at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
Amid all these, there is another new update coming in from the Spanish camp! There is a new addition to Carlos Alcaraz’s coaching team. However, his new coach will only join him on his travels after the AO, but who’s he? Well, according to various reports, Juan Carlos Ferrero will now be joined by Samuel Lopez to help out this young Spaniard on his mission to multiple Slams. Speaking about this new addition, Alcaraz said, “I think Samuel, for me, is one of the best coaches that we have on tour. They trust each other 100 percent and being able to travel with both, for me, it’s going to be great.” Do you think both Ferrero and Samuel can help Carlos Alcaraz win more major titles in the 2025 season?
