Dennis Rodman Was Once Left Surprised by Former Teammate on a Double Date at a Gay Bar: “Ever Since Then, We’ve Been Good Buds”

NBA legend Dennis Rodman is best known for his time with the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons. However, he also spent an important period of time with the San Antonio Spurs. Apart from establishing himself as one of the best rebounders in the league, Rodman made some important relationships in the team.

We are talking about Jack Haley here. Although Haley was not as good as Rodman, he was one of the few who bonded with him. Interestingly enough, Haley was brought to the Bulls in order to make Rodman’s transition from the Spurs to the Bulls easier!

Haley and Rodman were good friends from their days in San Antonio. However, one particular incident made them the best of friends. Haley was invited to a double date by Rodman which he readily agreed.
The date was not the only thing Rodman had planned that night. He took his girlfriend, Haley, and Haley’s wife to a club that was supposedly the ‘number 1 gay and alternative club’ in San Antonio.

Haley said, “So we went in, and they had a male stripper up on the stage, stripped down to a G-string. I shocked him and slipped one of the guys a buck. Ever since then, we’ve been good buds. I let him know, ‘Hey, this is not my world, but I’m not shocked by it.’“
Dennis Rodman was very impressed by Jack Haley. He happened to be one of the few people in Rodman’s small and limited social circle.

Jack Haley’s time at the Chicago Bulls is not one for the history books. In three seasons, he averaged 2.2 points, 0.2 assists, and 1.4 rebounds while playing just 63 games.
However, he had the important task of handling Dennis Rodman and all his antics. Interestingly enough, Haley was also referred to as Rodman’s ‘babysitter’.

The former Spurs and Bulls center passed away in 2015. Rodman penned down a heartfelt message for one of his best friends. “It’s with a very heavy heart that I must bid farewell to one of my best friends, teammate, wingman…Jack Haley“, said Rodman.
It was not only Rodman who posted a message for Haley. Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen also sent out a message for his former teammate.
