With the arrival of the new season, NASCAR fans are gearing up for this year’s events. Hendrick Motorsports’ star Kyle Larson will be seen in the 2023 Wild West Shootout at Vado Speedway starting in January.
Recently, Alan Bailey, a NASCAR fanatic and Youtuber, interviewed Kyle Larson, the 2021 Cup Series champion. In the interview on YouTube, they are seen discussing Kyle’s life, kids, and his upcoming season plans. Bailey asked him if he feels Owen, his son, has liking for the sport just like him. Larson let him know that he feels his four-and-a-half-year-old daughter seems to be like him and is more serious about the sport than Owen. He further added that one more boy will be in his family soon, and jokingly said, “so uh he might get all the hand-me-downs”. Alan, adding to the fun, said, “something tells me they’re not bad.”

Kyle replied saying, “no no no not that’s for sure, no to compete with Brex and Busch and what Kyle Busch has out there. I mean you gotta have the best stuff so um they take it extremely serious. I don’t take it nearly as as serious as Kyle probably does with anything, but um no it’s fun to watch the kids go out there and have some fun.”

Larson feels that his kids need to be ready first and feel it from within to take the sport further. And to compete with the Busch’s, Brexton or for that matter Kyle, it is indeed of utmost priority to have the very best in terms of attitude, equipment, suit, practice, etc. He even confessed that he doesn’t take it all seriously as yet because he believes his son Owen needs to show him that he wants to get into racing badly.

Kyle Larson dominated 2021 but 2022 was rough
The No.5 Hendrick Motorsport driver was the Cup Series Champion in 2021, but 2022 did not turn out so well. He got his first checkered flag at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the fourth season of the race. That win made him the fastest driver in Hendrick Motorsports team history to secure his first win. But after an amazing year filled with wins, 2022 did not turn out that well. After finishing at not-so-good ranks at the races in 2022, he sadly finished at seventh in the final standings. Whereas, in 2021, he won the first Cup championship of his career and achieved a milestone for himself.
Looks like Larson and his fans have a lot to look forward to in the season, starting soon in 2023. It might be the case that the fans have high expectations of him. Will he have more wins this year?
