It’s time to pop the champagne because the festive vibes have hit the tennis world! With the New Year already lighting up Australia, tennis stars are putting their rackets aside—just for a moment—and diving into the celebrations. After all, even the fiercest competitors deserve a little fun, right? From Coco Gauff’s infectious energy to Frances Tiafoe’s ever-charming flair, the players are ringing in 2025 in their own unique styles.
The American WTA tennis sensation took to her Instagram account and shared a video of firecrackers lighting up the night sky in Australia. Remember, Gauff is currently representing her country in the United Cup alongside Taylor Fritz. The duo has now managed to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, after defeating Croatia 3-0. And now, Gauff seems to be celebrating not just her victory, but also the beginning of a new year.
Captioning the post, she wished her fans and wrote, “happy new year!” A similar celebration came to light from WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. The Belarusian star who defeated Renata Zarazua in the first round of Brisbane International, 6-4, 6-0, took some time out with her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis. The duo shared a string of pictures and videos on their Instagram story with the background suggesting a restaurant, hinting that the couple went to have some delicacies to welcome the new year. In the pictures, Sabalenka wore a stunning white outfit as the couple posed for the camera. But Sabalenka and Gauff were not the only WTA players to capture the limelight.

Jannik Sinner’s girlfriend and Russian tennis beauty Anna Kalinskaya shared a video of people celebrating in the open with firecrackers taking center stage. Captioning the post, she wrote, “Happy NEW YEAR ✨🤍.” While the WTA Stars celebrated energetically, their ATP counterparts did not take a back seat either. Leading the fray is none other than American star Frances Tiafoe.
Tiafoe is currently in Brisbane and played his first match against Adam Walton, baffling him 7-6(5), 6-3. The energy and joy of advancing further were evident in his quote as he wrote, “2025 on them peoples,” sharing a similar view of the night sky. A similar reaction came from none other than Casper Ruud.
“Happy New Year from Down Under! 🎉☀️🌎” he wrote. But a new year does not only mean celebrations and fun, it also means some new resolutions. And for Coco Gauff, the resolution is just to keep improving herself.

“Really happy with how I played today. She’s a great player. The Olympics loss hurt so I definitely was thinking about it just as motivation to do better and I’m happy to send my team through,” she added. Now, as the new year unfolds, it would be interesting to see how other players join the fray of celebrations.
