Frances Tiafoe and his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield‘s tag team is one that seldom makes a no-show on the tour. While the American star tends to his on-court commitments, his lover and the Canadian player explore new territories during their stay at various destinations around the world. Following Tiafoe’s landing in Brisbane for the season-opening event, Broomfield showcased her interest in adventures zooming outside the courts.
A string of underwhelming results largely ruled Tiafoe’s 2024 campaign, with the only healthy updates coming at the American hardcourt swing. He reached the semifinal of the Citi Open before eventually bowing out to compatriot Sebastian Korda and followed that with a summit clash finish at the Cincinnati Masters against Italian Jannik Sinner. His most triumphant act for the year was witnessed at the US Open when he secured a spot in the last four but, unfortunately, was sent packing by finalist Taylor Fritz.
With hopes of securing better credentials in 2025, Tiafoe commenced the season at the calendar-opening Brisbane International. But, it wasn’t long before his journey ended prematurely in the second round. As he is due to stay in Australia a bit longer, his girlfriend took it upon herself to utilize their time in the nation by exploring the country’s favored tourist spots. As a result, the Canadian set afoot at a Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane and recorded her experience for fans to see on her TikTok handle.

She said, “Do you really visit Australia without seeing the Koala bears and Kangaroos? I think not. I was a bit apprehensive when we got there because we found out that there were actual roaming animals all over the sanctuary but after a while, I just started to enjoy it. The Koala bears were so adorable. They were gentle and I think one of them winked at me. Anyway, I kept talking to them as if they were my pet and I wish I could bring one home but I don’t think the customs will go for that at all. It was an amazing experience.”

Though Broomfield had a blast at the sanctuary, her boyfriend Tiafoe did not enjoy jetting to Brisbane amid the holiday season.
Frances Tiafoe laments hectic tour schedule – ‘It’s a joke’
American superstar Frances Tiafoe’s season-opening act at the Brisbane International didn’t produce quite the effect he anticipated after a rollercoaster of a season in 2024. Moreover, commencing his first calendar tournament from down under felt more of a setback knowing he compromised on his Christmas holidays to perform at the ATP 250 event.

Subsequently, the 26-year-old addressed his reservations about the much-lamented hectic touring schedule during a vlog episode on skater Natalia Zabiiako and WTA star Daria Kasatkina’s YouTube channel. “I hate leaving on Christmas Day. I think it’s a joke. But the fact that the tournament can start on Sunday, it’s crazy to, like, I love, I love being away from tennis, like, I love, like, being a friend. I feel like I’m a very normal guy.”
Following his unfortunate exit from Brisbane, Tiafoe will next launch his campaign at the Australian Open, slated to kick off on January 12.
