HW Rival Serghei Spivac Suspects Derrick Lewis’s Real Intention Behind Pulling Out of Their Previous UFC Fight Night Main Event

Derrick Lewis was supposed to fight Serghei Spivac in November 2022 at UFC Vegas 65. However, the fight had to be called off after ‘The Black Beast’ got infected with the Covid-19 virus. The match was canceled just an hour before the event began. However, Spivac claims that he heard different stories from people regarding Lewis‘s withdrawal from the fight.
Derrick Lewis will now fight Serghei Spivac at UFC Vegas 68. It is important for ‘The Black Beast’ to win this fight after lackluster performances in his last few fights. Fans are starting to believe that the 37-year-old may not be a credible heavyweight contender.

Meanwhile, Serghei Spivac is high on momentum with 4 wins in his last 5 UFC bouts. Both fighters will look forward to rallying a win this weekend.
Serghei Spivac is unsure about the reason behind Derrick Lewis withdrawing from the initial fight
Serghei Spivak spoke to the media at UFC Vegas 68 media day and claims that he has heard multiple versions of the reason behind Lewis‘s withdrawal from their initial fight late last year. Hence, he isn’t sure about what the truth is. Spivac said, “(I found out the fight was canceled) about 10 minutes before I was going to leave my hotel room.”
He added, “There’s a lot of things that I was told, but he’s the only one that knows the truth, so I didn’t bother things about that.”

The ‘Polar Bear’ also mentioned that he was totally emotionless after hearing the news about his fight being canceled. However, Spivac did mention that he wished Derrick Lewis well and, career-wise, he hoped to progress. However, the Moldovan fighter doesn’t seem to care too much about what transpired in November 2022. Spivac also talked about his happiness about UFC rebooking the match and thanked them for the opportunity to fight Derrick Lewis.

Media personnel asked him how he would react if the fight gets canceled once again. Spivac said that he was not concerned about it at all. He believes that the fight will take place and looks forward to becoming victorious this weekend in Las Vegas.
