Over the years, Derek Jeter has developed friendships with a number of celebrities and superstars. This is due to him being one of the greatest players ever to suit up for the New York Yankees. Furthermore, people were drawn to his humble personality and straightforward attitude.
One of his many celebrity friends is none other than Jimmy Fallon, host of the Tonight Show. Jeter has appeared on the show multiple times over the years and they have developed a close friendship. Jeter recently appeared on the Tonight Show and Fallon recounted an incident that scared him away from going out with the Yankee legend.
Jimmy Fallon paid a $2,000 bill after hanging out with Derek Jeter for 20 minutes

Derek Jeter recently appeared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for the first time since 2017. During the interview, Fallon recalled an incident from many years prior that caused him to avoid going out with Jeter. The talk show host was once out with Jeter at a club and enjoying a good time. But after spending 20 minutes with the Yankee star, he needed to leave. When he paid the bill, he was shocked that it was around $2,000. Although Fallon is worth $60 million today, back then, it wasn’t the case.
On the Tonight Show, Fallon said, “I get the bill, and I was there 20 minutes with you, and the bill was like $2000. And I almost, I almost started crying, because it was like a month’s rent for me. Fallon further said, “I don’t think I ever went out with you ever again.”

Although the Tonight Show host seemed surprised by the $2000 bill, he and Jeter have remained close over the years. Fallon is a huge Yankee fan and went to see them play on a regular basis. In fact, he was present for one of Jeter’s most special moments.

That’s right, Jimmy Fallon was present to watch Derek Jeter’s last home game live. According to MLB.com’s CUT 4, Fallon was present at Yankee Stadium “to see Jeter’s final home game in person”.
