Despite struggling so far this season, all eyes are on the Los Angeles Lakers, on LeBron James in particular as he inches towards breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record. A record that has been held for 38 years by Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Breaking the all-time scoring record is an unbelievable accomplishment, yet some fans are slamming ‘The King’ on social media for hyping it up.
After scoring over 50 points in the last two games, LeBron James is now only 36 points away from passing Abdul-Jabbar on the scoring board. For years, no one thought that the record would ever be broken, but James has arguably made it look easy so far.

James recently compared his NBA scoring record to that of MLB legend Barry Bonds. Notably, Bonds holds the record for the most home runs in MLB history. The four-time NBA champion said about his upcoming scoring record, “I think it’s one of the greatest records in sports in general. I think it’s up there with the home run record.”
While there might be some truth to what James said, many fans were seemingly not impressed with how the 19-time All-Star tried to hype up his incredible feat. One fan tweeted, “After 27 season hes such a statpadder.”

Will this end the hate for James?

James is arguably still playing like a young forward. It doesn’t seem like father time has yet hit the 38-year-old. Furthermore, in the absence of Anthony Davis, LeBron James increased his point production to over 30+ points per game over the last two months.
When he becomes the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, do you think that will end the hate for LeBron James? Let us know what you think in the comments section down below.
