With the new NBA season on the way, teams are prepping their stars with training camps and pre-season games. But it looks like some teams might have a hard time getting off on the right foot. In particular, the Golden State Warriors. During the Warriors training camp; two players, Draymond Green and Jordan Poole ended up getting into a physical altercation.

The two players went chest to chest with each other and Poole ended up pushing Green to get him out of his face. And as soon as Poole shoved him, Green punched him in the face.

Draymond Green to take some time off
According to sources, Poole’s behavior and attitude towards the team had changed over time. And it was reportedly because Poole was looking for a lucrative contract extension with the team.

According to sources, Draymond Green said he’s going to step away from the team for the next few days. Green apologized to his teammates on Thursday, publicly on Saturday, and will now take some time to recalibrate.
Current and former players both have chimed in on the controversy. NBA analysts around the league gave their opinions on the situation as well.

But a physical altercation, that too between teammates who have just come off from winning another NBA championship is sure to put a strain on their relationship and team chemistry.

Instead, after the assault took place and the two were separated, Poole reportedly went on to finish practice. The Golden State Warriors’ front office is yet to make a public decision regarding any potential punishment for Draymond Green.
