How did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West make a quick $440K?
Following the unrequired spread of the video, the couple sued the YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley. Kim and Kanye’s proposal video was supposed to be shot for the reality show – Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
However, the video was eventually found in various media outlets. Moreover, the logo of Hurley’s website named MixBit was visible on the blurry video of the couple’s proposal video.
While explaining his presence, the couple purported that they never invited Hurley. In fact, the webmaster and businessman traveled to the park with someone who was actually invited. Moreover, the couple allowed him to stay only after he signed a confidentiality agreement.
Following the breach of contract, the couple sued for fraud and breach of contract. Eventually, in 2015, Hurley, whose net worth today is $800 million, moved to settle toward a $440,000 payday for Kardashian and West.
Funnily, the settlement found a way to envelop over 15% of the wedding expenses that cost $2.8million. In January 2021, eight years after their marriage, the couple announced the end of their wedding.
