The New York Knicks center accepts fate and rests his trust in God. Mitchell Robinson has had one of the most unfortunate careers in the NBA world in recent times. In his six-season-long stint, the 7 ‘0 tall star hasn’t completed a single season unscathed. Despite that, Robinson always managed to bounce back and return fresh to the new seasons. However, it doesn’t seem to be the case this time, as his return is still up in the air. During this testing time, the Knicks center penned an emotional while his perpetrator gears up with an overpowered team.
The 26-year-old center has been prone to injuries throughout his career, and the Knicks are well aware of it. Last season, Robinson suffered a fracture in his ankle in December and missed about 50 games. Importantly, the absence didn’t affect the team, as Isaiah Hartenstien took over the job, and Robinson managed to recover just in time for the postseason. Unfortunately, just three games later, the center aggravated his ankle injury following an ugly mishap.
While everyone expected Mitchell Robinson to recover in time and return for the upcoming season, the latest update left the Knicks in dismay. A league source said to the NY Post that the center has recovered from his left leg surgery and he is expected to return either in December or January. On the other hand, a different source revealed that the Knicks are not forcing Robinson to a quick recovery and expect the star to get 100% healthy. So, the star’s return could take longer than expected.

And, these developments would definitely break an athlete. However, Robinson seemed more positive in his IG stories. The star wrote, “God I got ALOT I want to say, but I’ll just leave it to your hands. Not everything needs a reaction. Peace out,” with Sean McGee’s My Story running in the background. Along with that, in the next story, he shared a picture of a chit that had, “You’re going to make it. God is on your side,” written on it.
What’s your reaction? Mitchell Robinson’s injury is a gut punch to Knicks fans! React! Reactions
Now that Robinson is confident about his return, let’s find out how things would turn out for the Knicks and the person behind the center’s unfortunate situation.
What’s in store for the Knicks after the Mitchell Robinson update?
Firstly, let’s find out the actual reason behind Robinson’s aggravated injury. And the main reason behind it was Joel Embiid. At least, that’s what the game highlights point out. During Game 3 of the 2024 playoff first round, when Knicks forward OG Anunoby passed the ball to Robinson, Embiid, who was already on the ground after taking charge, made an ugly play.

The Philly center dragged Rob’s left leg and pulled him to the ground, receiving a flagrant foul. The Knicks center, who was in immense pain, returned to the locker room and never returned. This act triggered a lot of reaction from the NY fans. Notably, in the Empire State Building, reflecting on the situation, put out a tweet that read, “Joel Embiid has been banned from the Empire State Building.” Especially, Robinson himself said, “If I did [Embiid’s takedown], I would’ve been out and suspended… I would’ve been out of there,” critiquing the refs.

Meanwhile, on the other end, the Knicks lost their backup center Isaiah Hartenstein in the off-season to the OKC Thunder. Luckily, the Knicks don’t seem to be in a panic as they trust their depth. Currently, it’s a golden opportunity for the untested reserve center Jericho Sims to grab the opportunity and raise his stakes. Will the Knicks escape this adversity? Let us know in the comments.
