In a recent episode of Door Bumper Clear, NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin questioned if Ty Gibbs is ready to replace Kyle Busch. To this, the former Kyle Larson teammate and Chip Ganassi driver Jamie McMurray replied; “I would have said prior to getting him in the 23XI car, a 100%, right?”
Furthermore, he explained; “He (Ty) has won 11 of 51 Xfinity series races. A pretty similar track record to Kyle Busch, who obviously is one of the best ever. He started outing Cup and I am like ‘Oh yeah! He is legit.’ But it didn’t seem like he kept getting better every single week. If anything, if you look finish-wise, he actually got worse.”
