The PGA Tour golfer, a fan favorite due to his humorous takes, made the remark in the backdrop of the LA Lakers’ loss against the Clippers in the NBA. He questioned whether James’ performance mattered if the team couldn’t fire as a collective.

As a matter of fact, Dahmen’s tweet asserts a thoughtful statement. James rolled back the years with a 46-pointer performance that included a career-best nine three-pointers. While his attempt to win the game for his team was left in tatters, the 38-year-old is on the cusp of making personal history.
Even the Lakers coach, Darvin Ham, admitted to seeking more help for James. “I’m happy for him, but we’ve got to get better,” he said. “We’ve got to give some help in other areas.”
“He’s playing at an unbelievable level right now – it’s amazing to be able to watch. But having said that, we want to win games. So everyone can do something a little bit better — myself and my staff included,” Ham further added.

The record for the most points scored in the NBA has stood for years. It is held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, having amassed 38,387 points in a glorious career.

However, James could surpass the figure soon. The Lakers forward is within touching distance of the mark. After Tuesday’s show, he is merely 178 points off Abdul-Jabbar and is on track to beat that record this season itself.

While James has etched his name in the history books, getting over the record of NBA’s all-time top scorer will certainly be regarded as one of his greatest-ever achievements.
