Since retiring from baseball, Derek Jeter has become a businessman and investor. The NY Yankee legend has been a part of a variety of opportunities, both as an investor and advisor. One such venture is the Players’ Tribune, a media platform that Jeter founded in 2014. He created it with the intention of giving athletes control over their own narratives. The Tribune earned approximately $20 million in annual revenue at one point.
Jeter did all of this with the help of the people around him and a great founding partner. The Yankee legend recently helped his Players’ Tribune founding partner by joining the board of his company.

Derek Jeter has been a part of a large variety of business ventures. He recently joined the Gaming Society’s Advisory Board of Directors, a move that partners him with Players’ Tribune co-founder Jaymee Messler. Media outlet Boardroom covered the news in a piece stating that Jeter would be joining this role. Gaming Society is a company that promotes safe and equitable betting while telling stories about top athletes.
According to Boardroom, “Derek Jeter, Chelsea Gray, and Sheryl Swoopes have joined the Advisory Board of Directors for Gaming Society.” Jeter also commented on the opportunity and seemed excited. While talking to the Boardroom he said, “Gaming Society is uniquely positioned to introduce more fans to the betting category.” He also commented on working with Messler, saying, “I’m excited to once again team up with Jaymee and look forward to helping the company and this great community grow.”

Jeter has become involved in a variety of businesses and investment opportunities. This has given him a wealth of knowledge on the subject. He once even shared his thoughts on a successful business. But even after coming this far, the Yankee legend does not forget who helped him get here.

For years Derek Jeter has credited Michael Jordan with teaching him the business side of things. The two met many years ago while playing in the Arizona Fall League and Jordan looked out for Jeter after that. The Yankee legend says that MJ taught him how to act on and off the field.
