Bleacher Report
The New York Mets officially punched their ticket to the postseason with an 8-7 comeback win over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of Monday’s regular-season-finale doubleheader.
It was a dramatic victory that saw the Mets overcome a three-run deficit after going scoreless through seven innings with six runs in the eighth. When the Braves took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the frame, New York star shortstop Francisco Lindor hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the ninth.
The Braves bounced back in Game 2 of Monday’s doubleheader with a 3-0 win to clinch a spot in the playoffs, eliminating the 2023 National League champion Arizona Diamondbacks.
Here’s the final bracket for the 2024 MLB playoffs.

No. 2 Cleveland Guardians, first-round bye

The Padres went 93-69 and finished second in the NL West, five games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (98-64). They played seven times against the Braves during the regular season and won four of the matchups.
The six-game regular-season series between the Brewers and Mets was much more lopsided, with Milwaukee winning five of the matchups and averaging 4.6 runs per game.
