Craftsman Truck Series team Rev Racing has once again found themselves in troubled waters ahead of the 2025 season. Last year, they ran into legal troubles with Kyle Busch Motorsports after failing to honor the terms of their technical alliance. The lengthy legal tussle between the two parties ended with Rev Racing paying up $105,000 to KBM. However, they found their new partners Spire Motorsports to aid their full-time project in the Truck Series.
It has to be noted that Spire Motorsports acquired the ownership of KBM by the end of the 2023 season. And the new owners decided to support Rev Racing for the 2024 season resuming the technical alliance for the No. 2 entry led by Nick Sanchez. The driver did notch up two wins and ended the season fifth in the overall standings. But it seems like all of this progress is soon going to be derailed with Spire pulling the plug on their partnership with the team.
Like KBM, Spire Motorsport supplied Rev Racing with the equipment and the personnel for them to compete in the series. With the help of these resources, they were able to rake up wins at Daytona International Speedway and Charlotte with Sanchez. “The agreement between Spire [Motorsports] and REV Racing expired at the end of the 2024 season. Spire elected not to pursue a renewal of that agreement and enter a fourth Spire Motorsports truck in 2025.” A team representative from Spire confirmed this to TobyChristie.com.
Moreover, Spire is planning to field a fourth team, No. 07, for the 2025 season. They are in talks with Rev Racing regarding the owner points of the No. 2 team. This latest development has cast a shadow over Rev Racing’s future in the Craftsman Truck Series. Without the support of Spire and losing out on owner points could be a huge blow to their plans for the 2025 season.
