NASCAR Rumor: Struggling Cup Series Driver Set for Broadcast Booth After Losing Full-Time Seat

Although most of the silly season business had already been concluded for the 2025 Cup Series season, there was no clarity about Rick Ware Racing’s full-time driver. This decision call also has huge repercussions for former Spire Motorsports driver Corey LaJoie. He was the one driving the No. 51 Ford Mustang for the final seven races of the season thanks to a mid-season split deal.
LaJoie was stacked against the odds to retain a full-time seat at RWR, especially with Cody Ware reported to be the favorite for the ride in 2025. This meant that the North Carolina native either had to take a step down in the Xfinity or Truck Series or just compete on a part-time basis. It is indeed hard to see LaJoie opt to step down in the lower series. Which is why the latter option makes sense. And if we are to go by the rumor mills, he is opting for a part-time feature along with broadcasting duties with streaming giants Amazon Prime.

“Word on the street (at least my street) is that Lajoie might have some part-time rides, along with some sort of analyst role with Amazon #NASCAR #CoreyLajoie.” A fan page named nascarrumornostalgia posted this on Instagram. Now it is unclear whether this part-time ride will be with Spire Motorsports or Rick Ware Racing. We will have to wait for an official confirmation, either from the driver or the team involved in this deal.
