Aaron Judge played his way into winning the AL MVP in 2022 and winning Free Agency as well. Notably, during the 2022 Spring Training, Judge rejected a 7-year $213.5 million contract from the Yankees. He is now set to receive a contract offer that will make A-Rod’s contract with the Yankees look small in comparison. Not to forget if Judge is getting such a mammoth deal, it is only because he backed and took a bet on himself by rejecting the Yankees contract earlier this year.

The reigning AL MVP has been in contact with other teams as well and this will make Yankees fans really upset. If Judge leaves the Yankees after such a historic season, it would hurt both the franchise and the fanbase. And this is why the Bronx Bombers have reportedly offered Judge a new contract with better terms.

The Yankees offer Aaron Judge a contract that makes A-Rod’s contract look small
The New York Yankees offered Aaron Judge what would have been a record-breaking contract before the opening day of the 2022 season. The contract was worth 7 years and $213.5 million and would’ve made Judge the highest annually earning position player in Yankees’ history. As of now, A-Rod holds the title with his 10-year $275 million contract that bagged him $27.5 million per year. But Judge rejected a contract that would’ve paid him more than $30 million a year, comfortably breaking A-Rod’s record.
But Judge will completely shatter that record if he accepts the Yankees’ most recent offer. According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, “The New York Yankees, whose chief desire this offseason is to retain Judge, have an offer on the table in the neighborhood of eight years and $300 million and could increase it”.
This would take Judge’s annual earnings to $37.5 million per year. And would break A-Rod’s record by $10 million, making him the highest-paid position player in the MLB, also surpassing Mike Trout’s $35.5 million.
