Cowboys star wideout CeeDee Lamb is going to have to get creative this offseason.
The NFL sent its full rules report for the 2025 season to teams this week. Lamb’s “nose wipe” celebration is now classified as a “violent gesture” and will result in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty

“Any violent gesture, which shall include but not be limited to a throat slash, simulating firing or brandishing a gun, or using the ‘nose wipe’ gesture, or an act that is sexually suggestive or offensive” will result in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, the rule says.
While other players have done the celebration before, Lamb is the player most commonly associated with that move.
He weighed in on the rule change on social media, saying he’s got other ideas for celebrations in mind.
While the Cowboys certainly have bigger things to worry about heading into 2025, Lamb’s way of signifying he has picked up a first down will be a costly mistake going forward.
