An NHL player responded to a fan who asked him to pay back a lost bet over this past weekend.
Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat responded to a fan on Instagram on Saturday after the fan asked him to pay back a bet that he lost, after Horvat missed a shot in the game’s shootout. In a tweet posted by Bleacher Report Open Ice, Horvat is seen responding to the fan in an Instagram comment, asking the fan to send his info over in order to repay the lost bet.
“Canucks captain Bo Horvat responds to a comment asking for a $91.50 bet back after he lost the game in the shootout by losing the puck,” the tweet’s caption said.

The interaction between the NHL player and the fan comes shortly after the Canucks lost their game against the Nashville Predators on Saturday night during a shootout.
After the game between the two teams was tied at three goals a piece at the end of three periods, the teams went to a shootout. Predators center Matt Duchene scored first during the shootout, which meant that the Canucks had to score next to keep the shootout alive.In the NHL, teams must remained tied after overtime to enter the shootout. According to NHL rules, during a shootout, each team alternates a player to skate toward the goalie and attempt to score a goal. The shootout will include three rounds of alternating players for a winner to be determined.
During Horvat’s attempt during the shootout, he began by skating toward Predators goalie Juuse Saros. While attempting to trick the goalie with an array of different moves, Horvat lost control of the puck and it eventually traveled away from the goalie. During a shootout in the NHL, the player must keep the puck moving forward, traveling the goalie or the attempt will be disqualified.
“Once the player touches the puck, he must keep it moving towards the goal line at all times until he takes the shot. The puck cannot stop during the shot attempt or it is disqualified. The play is considered complete once a shot is taken or the puck crosses the goal line. There are no rebounds,” the NHL said in an article in 2019.
Horvat’s attempt was the final chance for the Canucks during the shootout, and they lost the game against the Predators.
In addition to the tweet shared by Bleacher Report Open Ice, some other Twitter users also shared the interaction between Horvat and the fan.
