LeBron James has leveraged his global fame and diversified his generational wealth into different businesses, with the spirit industry being one of many. Bron decided to invest in Lobos 1707 in 2018. However, James isn’t the only current NBA player to invest in the company. His Lakers’ teammate Anthony Davis, along with Draymond Green, Zach LaVine and Fred VanVleet, have all invested in the company. This long list also includes actress Issa Rae and Rich Paul, LeBron’s sports agent.

In a recent one-of-a-kind promotion by Lobos 1707, LeBron, along with AD, Draymond, and LaVine, shared their thoughts on the “pack.” When quizzed about the “pack”, AD replied by saying, “There’s no jealousy, no ego. Everything is for the betterment of the pack.” Green added, “Man, I am lucky to be a part of this pack.”
LeBron also posted the promotion on his Instagram handle, with the caption, “Best in Class Tequila embodies unparalleled quality, craftsmanship, and flavor, offering a taste that sets the standard of excellence in every sip. It’s the Lobos Way.” At the time of writing, the post has already garnered approximately 10,500 likes in just one hour.

Lobos 1707 launched its first product line in 2020. The tequila brand offers four products that range in price from $45 to $150 per bottle. CEO Simms describes their work as, “A premium brand, and our distinctive aging process meets the need of an accelerating category.” However, LeBron and Lobos aren’t the only brand competing in this niche market. They face significant competition from another basketball icon-led brand.

Michael Jordan and Cincoro
Launched in 2019, Cincoro aims to redefine the tequila landscape by offering high-quality, ultra-premium tequilas crafted from 100% Weber Blue agave. The tequila brand is owned by Michael Jordan and has investors such as Jeanie Buss (Lakers owner), Wes Edens (Bucks owner), and Wyc Grousbeck (Celtics owner).
