“Why are we in such a hurry?” a fan wrote while suggesting that the implementation of the new rules could make the game very fast-paced.

This fan came in and cheekily suggested that the players should use a heavier ball to play and the time taken to restore themselves should be drastically reduced. “Lol. Let’s make matches more physical with heavier balls, but then also reduce the amount of time players have to physically reassert themselves. I’m sure that will go juuuuust great,” wrote the user.

Last but not least, this fan suggested that the second rule was weird because the players actually complained about the matches ending up late rather than the 10-second gap that they reduced.
“Second rule is so weird. To swap constantly between long and short time clocks. Just keep it at 25. People complain about long matches when they end super late..that’s due to scheduling, not an extra 10 seconds allowed between points..” wrote the user.

Thus, the new rules that were introduced to make the game more fun eventually dealt with a huge backlash from the fans. Interestingly, many even suggested that Rafael Nadal could face more problems with it. But how?
How could Rafael Nadal face problems with the implementation of the new rules?
Interestingly, Rafael Nadal has had a very illustrative career throughout his life. From winning grand slams to multiple ATP titles, the Spanish Maestro has achieved almost everything in his life. However, there is one more thing that he was known for, wasting some time during his serves. This was essentially done to break his opponent’s focus and thus win the points.
However, with the new set of rules coming in and the time between the serves being lowered, he could not use his tactics anymore and would have to eventually serve his set earlier.
Thus, at the upcoming ATP Next Gen Finals, the new rules introduced by the ATP will come to light. It will be interesting to see how the players cope with that and make the best use of the new rules and regulations.
